About Me

Hello and Welcome

I'm Pedro. I am a Brazilian freelance photographer based out of Toronto, Canada.

My interest in photography began when I was twelve years old and I saw a photograph that I took on a family vacation. That photo changed the way that I saw and interacted with photography, but I did not take it seriously at the time. No one in my family or around me was a photographer so I denied this dream to be a one. Over a decade later, after realizing the nine-to-five job was not for me, I began to seriously pursue photography professionally. Travels overseas, provided inspiration and fueled my creativity to re-think it as a full-time career.

My Photographic Approach

When I photograph I like to play with natural light and use a photojournalist style to create candid images. Capturing moments, without posing or interfering with the subject, is my preferred approach to make a photograph that is genuine and natural. I like to get to know my subjects and make them feel comfortable enough to forget they are in front of a camera.

Training and Experience

I completed a Diploma of Photography from SENAC (National Service for Commercial Education), in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have covered events including the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, Honda Indycar Race, 2015 Pan Am Games and local business events. My photos have been featured in Brazilian print including the Folha de Sao Paulo, Diario de São Paulo, Metro News and Veja.

Availability

I am available for individual or group portraits, family lifestyle shoots, head shots, events, sports and stories in Southern Ontario.
